Attorney teaches course on veteran benefits

Dawn M. Weekly, principal attorney at Legacy Law Firm LLC in Sandwich, was recently invited to Washington, D.C. to teach an accreditation course to other VA-accredited attorneys from across the country at the National Aging and Law Institute.

The course was created by and taught by Weekly in order to fulfill the VA’s requirement that VA-accredited attorneys take a three-hour continuing legal education course on VA benefits.

Weekly has been a VA-accredited attorney since the inception of the program in 2008, and she has authored and taught VA accreditation courses in several different venues. She is a nationally recognized expert on the topic of veterans pension benefits, and she serves as the task force chairwoman of the Veterans Subcommittee of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. She also has given several presentations on various aspects of veterans benefits and elder law topics at several different national attorney conferences.
