Safe Passage invites the community to its Evening of Chocolate fundraising event from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 22 at Faranda’s Banquet Center, 302 Grove St. in DeKalb.

It is an evening to delight the chocolate lover in everyone, while supporting the mission of Safe Passage to break the cycle of violence. For decades, Safe Passage has worked continually to assist those in DeKalb County whose lives are affected by domestic violence or sexual assault.

Evening of Chocolate includes a light buffet meal as well as all the delicious chocolate desserts guests care to sample. There also will be a cash bar. This year will feature Dan Klefstad, WNIJ’s Morning Edition host. There will be musical performances by Zachary Harris and Emily Lanxer. The silent auction will offer something for everyone, including the American Girl Doll of the Year, Zanie’s Comedy Club tickets, water park tickets, an Xbox One, and a Microsoft Surface. There also will be a 50/50 cash raffle. Players do not have to be present to win.

Tickets cost $40 and can be purchased in advance or at the door. The 50/50 raffle tickets cost $10 each. Safe Passage encourages the community to help make the evening more enjoyable by contributing chocolate items for this event. If you would like to support Safe Passage by donating a chocolate item, call 815-756-7930 by Tuesday.
