Published: Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2014 5:30 a.m. CDT

The Sycamore girls basketball team honored its four seniors with a dominating 52-15 win over IMSA on Monday in the Spartans’ final home game of the season.

Sycamore took an 18-2 lead after the first quarter.

Bailey Gilbert scored 15 points to lead the Spartans. Senior Julia Moll scored five points in the win.

Cogs edged by R-B: Genoa-Kingston fell to Richmond-Burton, 43-41, at home.

Senior Andrea Strohmaier scored a game-high 16 points in her final home game for G-K (6-18, 2-9 BNC East), and Julie Galauner added 11 points, including three 3-pointers.

“I thought our girls battled really hard. We came out pretty sluggish in the third quarter and got down 12 and got all the way back to down two,” G-K coach Kyle Henkel said. “When we take care of the ball, we can pretty much play with anybody and I think we showed that against a good Richmond team.”

Kaneland tops Yorkville: Kaneland (12-13, 4-4 NI Big 12 East) defeated Yorkvile, 51-41, at home. Kelly Wallner scored a team-high 18 points and grabbed six rebounds while Amber Winquist-Bailey had 11 points and six rebounds for the Knights, who went on a 22-1 run in the second half.
