Kaneland boys hosts Hoops for Heroes

Kaneland Boys Basketball will host the inaugural Hoops for Heroes – Day and Knight of Hoops to benefit the Wounded Warrior Project from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday at Kaneland High School.

Six varsity/sophomore basketball programs (including Kaneland) will be showcased throughout the day. 

The event also will feature:

• Exhibition games by the Kaneland Youth Basketball and Cagers programs

• Kaneland Pep Bands

• Team cheers and spirit for all teams, by Kaneland Youth Cheer

• Food and drink by the Kaneland Sports Boosters

• Customizable event clothing

• 50/50 raffle with winners all day (and Knight) long

• Draw down raffle following the hoops at Maple Park’s Bootlegger’s Bar and Grill (with a $2,000 grand prize)

• and Chuck-a-duck

Proceeds from the event will benefit Wounded Warrior Project (www.woundedwarriorproject.org) to honor and empower wounded veterans.
