Airlines cancel 530 flights at Chicago airports

Published: Monday, Jan. 27, 2014 1:07 p.m. CST

CHICAGO - Airlines at Chicago's two main airports have canceled more than 530 flights so far because of cold temperatures.

The city's Department of Aviation says 450 flights have been canceled Monday at O'Hare International Airport. Another 80 have been canceled at Midway International Airport.

Neither location is reporting any delays.

Monday's cancellations come a day after carriers scrapped about 400 flights on Sunday because of cold, snow and wind.

The National Weather Service says the air temperature is 2 degrees below zero at O'Hare. That's expected to fall to almost 20 degrees below zero later in the night. Wind chills could make it feel like 45 degrees below zero.
