The DeKalb-Sycamore boys swim team kept alive its undefeated record in dual meets and invitationals with a 103-18 win at Fenton.
“We pretty much domianted the meet. The first time since I’ve been coaching ... we actually had a perfect meet, every individual event we went 1-2-3 and the relays we went 1-2,” co-op coach Leah Eames said. “Definitely special and a fun moment.”
Daniel Hein won the 200-yard freestyle and the 100 breaststroke while Tyler Schultz took first in the 200 individual medley. Dylan Powers (50 free), Michael Carlson (100 butterfly), Austin Bockman (100 free), Holden Mackey (500 free) and Jacob Bjork (100 backstroke) also won individual events.
Powers, Ryan Schultz, Carlson and Bjork combined to win the 200 medley relay while Ryan Schultz, Powers, Carlson and Hein won the 200 free. Bjork, Mackey, Ryan Schultz and Hein were victorious in the 400 free relay.
Indian Creek advances: Indian Creek defeated Somonauk, 44-34, to advance to the semifinals of the Little Ten tournament.
Samantha Mosley led the Timberwolves (12-9) with 14 points while Josie Diehl had 13 points in the win.
Indian Creek plays No. 1 seed Newark at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Hinckley-Big Rock.
Sycamore downs Burlington: Sycamore avenged one of its early-season losses with a 64-49 victory at Burlington Central.
Ben Niemann led the Spartans with 16 points and 14 rebounds while Devin Mottet scored 14 points and pulled down five rebounds in the win for Sycamore (14-3).
Indian Creek edges Paw Paw: Indian Creek defeated Paw Paw, 43-39, in a Little Ten Conference matchup.
The Timberwolves (11-5, 5-0 Little Ten) got a double-double from David Boehne with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Noah Holm posted 12 points. Garrison Govig had nine points and 12 rebounds on the night.
Indian Creek plays at Polo tonight.
Sycamore edged by Dixon: Sycamore shot its season-high series, but was edged by Dixon, 3,187-3,069, at home in a Northern Illinois Big 12 matchup.
Sycamore was led by freshman Alexis Kolberg, who shot a 587 series, including a 216 game. Kelly Drake recorded a 578 series, including a 237 high game.
“This past week our varsity bowlers have looked a lot more confident in what they’re trying to do out there,” Sycamore coach Rick Davis said. “Earlier in the year, you could see them look confused as the lanes broke. Now, they’ll ask if making this adjustment is right, or should they move here. They’re getting it, and at the right time.”
Morris tops DeKalb: Morris defeated DeKalb, 3,581-2,995, in a Northern Illinois Big 12 matchup. DeKalb was led by a 604 series from Taylor Mershon and a 592 series from Maddy Jouris.
Rochelle downs Kaneland: Kaneland defeated Rochelle, 2,666-2,296, in the overall series and took all 10 conference points in a Northern Illinois Big 12 matchup.
Dominique Lee led the Knights with a 421 series while Michelle Bohanek shot a 411 series in the loss.
