Lucky to have Sycamore Theatre

To the Editor:

What a great community Sycamore is. We attended a movie over the holidays at the Sycamore Theatre. There was no charge for the movie, however, you could bring a toy in for charity if you wanted. We were treated with great kindness. Mr. And Mrs. Hopper are wonderful citizens/business owners in the community and we are lucky to have them. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Hopper. We are so proud to know you.

Your friends,

Finn, Holly and Harper

Thanks for ‘Christmas Memories’

To the Editor:

“Christmas Memories” was the theme for the annual Christmas Benefit Dinner held at Christ the Teacher Church on Dec. 7. This event celebrated the beginning of the holiday season through community fellowship while helping raise money for student and parishioner programs.

This wonderful evening was made possible with the hard work and support of the following individuals: Debbie Boesche, Jan Marcinkevic, Barb Berg, Matt Swan, Steve Almburg, Lisa and Mark Lenz, Kim Keck, Sara Olson, Bev Kuhn, Therese Laskowski, Zabrina Atkins, Michelle Bergeson, Regina Smith, Nancy Culver, Birdie Welsh, Sharon Brady, Amy Wolski and the Student Music Ministers, Denise Sanders and the Student Ministry Team, Marti Brown, Carol Tweedy, Pat Faivre, Phi Kappa Theta Fraternity, Bill McMahon and the Lincoln Inn, Knights of Columbus, Bob Putz and many others who donated their time and talents for this celebration.

We also would like to thank those whose contributions enhanced this event and supported our parish: Gary and Mary Kuhn, Lucille Fink, Paul and Mary Dubrick, Tim and Julie Suter, Butala Funeral Home, Bill and Jo Monat, Drs. Steve and Michelle Glasgow, James and Marge Bridge, Msgr. Steve Knox, Carol McGinn, Tony and Micki Chulick, Pat and Steve Faivre, Rick and Anita Turner, Kathy Mathey, G’sR Construction, Greenacre Cleaners, Aramark of Rochelle, Voluntary Action Center and countless others who made donations of items and services to our live and silent auctions, as well as our cookie bakers.

Once again, our community came together and provided a joyous opening to the Christmas season.

With appreciation,

Chris Brady
