Boey named Sycamore chamber's outstanding citizen

SYCAMORE – Sycamore resident Robert Boey will be honored as the 2013 Clifford Danielson Outstanding Citizen on Jan. 30 at the Sycamore Chamber of Commerce's 99th annual meeting.

Serving on the board of trustees at Northern Illinois University, Boey also is a partner in the Sycamore Industrial Park Corp. and American Bare Conductor Inc., among other positions in the community.

The award was named for Clifford Danielson, a leader in the Sycamore business community for nearly 70 years. The award honors individuals who strive toward the highest level of professional accomplishment, excel in their chosen field, and have devoted their time and energy to enhance the quality of life in Sycamore.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 11 a.m. Jan. 30 with lunch, and be followed by the award presentation at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Memorial Hall, 244 Waterman St., Sycamore.

Reservations are $25 for members and $30 for nonmembers, and can be made by calling 815-895-3456 or emailing by Jan. 24.
