Christmas in Kirkland a success

KIRKLAND – The Greater Kirkland Area Chamber of Commerce sponsored its annual Christmas in Kirkland on Dec. 14 at Alpine Bank. The event featured a visit from Santa and holiday music by the Hiawatha Band under the direction of Matthew Golloday.

Prizes for the finest art work and essays were presented to Hiawatha students by their principal, Jared Poynter. 

The following students were recognized:

Art prizes:

Kindergarten – Mariah Langley

First grade – Cole Chambers

Second grade – Kourtney Ventura

Third grade – Mikalah Simmons

Essay prizes:

Fourth grade – Calli Schell

Fifth grade – Weston Bramm

Sixth grade – Emma Sieroslawski

Seventh grade – Travis Haak

Eighth grade – Haley Ackerman

Prizes for winners of the Home Lighting Contest were presented by Don Banks to:

First place – Greg Jinrich

Second place – Danny Fisher

Third place – Catherine and Michael Welch

Fourth place – Steve Sarver

Fifth place – Wayne Blake
