The Chicago Sun-Times reported Marshall appeared in a Markham courtroom Thursday. His lawyer told the newspaper Marshall plans to plead not guilty.

Marshall is charged along with his two brothers, 16-year-old Anthony Lee and 21-year-old Diante Lamont Coakley. A prosecutor said Thursday all three fired at a vehicle in Dolton during a drug deal went wrong, killing Casara who was inside.
