SPRINGFIELD – About 900 new signs will go up along Illinois interstates next month increasing the speed limit to 70 mph.
The Illinois Department of Transportation says the signs were made with recycled materials at the agency’s Central Sign Shop in Springfield. The signs have been distributed statewide. And they’ll be installed between Jan. 2 and Jan. 17.
The new law increasing the top speed limit to 70 mph goes into effect Jan. 1.
