Mental Health Board seeking candidates

Published: Saturday, Dec. 28, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

The DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board is seeking candidates for a board position open Wednesday.

Board members plan, fund, and monitor mental health, developmental disability, and substance abuse services at 15 agencies in DeKalb County, according to a news release. These efforts are supported by a property tax fund, which was created by a referendum.

The board meets monthly, although board members are encouraged to volunteer to serve on a committee that meets separately about once a month, the release states. Members must be residents of DeKalb County, and may not be employees or board members of any DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board-funded agencies.

Those interested should submit a letter to Jane Dargatz, President, DeKalb County Community Mental Health Board, 2500 N. Annie Glidden Road, Suite B, DeKalb, IL, 601156.  For more information, call Sandra Belman, executive director, at 815-899-4960 or email
