Police: Drunken driver drove into on-coming traffic
DeKALB – A 37-year-old DeKalb man who authorities said does not have a driver's license was charged Thursday with aggravated driving under the influence.
Antonio Rojas-Guerrero, of the 100 block of North 10th Street, allegedly was driving drunk at about 12:25 a.m. Thursday on the 100 block of West Lincoln Highway, DeKalb, where he drove into oncoming traffic, court records show.
A witness saw Rojas-Guerrero, who was driving a white pick-up truck, struggling to leave a parking lot and weaving into lanes in downtown DeKalb, court records show. He also hit a curb, court records show.
Rojas-Guerrero was also charged with having no driver's license. He was unable to provide proof of insurance to police, court records show.
If convicted of the most serious charge, Rojas-Guerrero would face up to three years in prison. His bond was set at $5,000. His next court date is scheduled for Jan. 16.
