SYCAMORE – Prosecutors filed more serious domestic battery charges this week against a 29-year-old Sycamore man already accused of unlawful restraint and domestic battery in an unrelated incident.

Kyle C. Miller, of the 300 block of East High Street, was charged Monday with aggravated domestic battery and two counts of domestic battery for allegedly trying to strangle a family member Oct. 18. Based on his criminal history, Miller could face between six and 30 years in prison if he’s convicted. Probation would not be an option.

Miller already was in jail because he had not posted bond in connection with charges of unlawful restraint and three counts of domestic battery. Those charges stemmed from a Dec. 12 incident.

Miller previously was sentenced to three years in prison for sexually abusing a 16-year-old in September 2008, when he was 24, records show.

Bond was set Tuesday at $75,000.

Miller’s next court date is scheduled for Dec. 31.
