Letter: No tolerance when Christian speaks out?

Published: Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

I would like to make a comment on all the news about Phil Robertson, one of the personalities on TV’s “Duck Dynasty.”

As I understand it, this country was founded by God-fearing Christians with tolerance to all.

Have we come full circle and are no longer tolerant of a God-fearing man speaking his views as guaranteed under the First Amendment to the Constitution, which the Daily Chronicle prints every day?

I am reminded of a saying from years ago:  “I might not agree with what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it.”
