DeKALB – Waste Management will delay garbage pick-up after Christmas and New Year’s Day, and will pick up Christmas trees next week and the week of Jan. 6.

Residents should place Christmas trees without decorations in the parkway on those two weeks to have Waste Management crews pick them up, according to a news release. Christmas trees in bags will not be collected.

Residents also can put their old Christmas trees in special waste containers from Monday through Jan. 10. The containers will be at the southwest corner of North Seventh and Oak streets, Fire Station No. 2 at 1154 S. Seventh St., and the city garden plots near Fire Station No. 3 at 950 W. Dresser Road.

In addition, garbage pick-up will be delayed this week and next week because of the holidays. That means the typical Wednesday collection will happen Thursday, etc.

For more information, please call Waste Management at 800-796-9696.
