The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a winter weather advisory, in effect from midnight tonight to 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Snow will hit the DeKalb County area between midnight and 4 a.m., and the county could see between 2 and 4 inches of snow. It will result in potentially treacherous traveling during the Wednesday morning rush hour.
In addition, the wind chill could hit -1 tonight and go as low as -18 Wednesday morning, with blustery conditions. Wednesday night, the wind chill could be as low as -21. This could cause additional travel difficulties, as the road salt on non-treated roads will be less effective.
