Java Café Studio sets two holiday dates

Java Café Studio in DeKalb will be open today and Dec. 18 for holiday shopping.

The studio features the art of Nancy Baker and unique items, inspired decor, fashion accessories, fabric art, fashion scarves, fleece hats, organic skincare, lotions for pampering, gourmet coffee and tea and relaxation and stress-reducing products. Bring a friend and come shop, play, relax and laugh.

Java Café Studio is located at 1527 Crayton Circle East, DeKalb. Hours are 4 to 9 p.m.

Local author Laurie Guest will sign copies of her new book, “Wrapped in Stillness,” on Dec. 18. Guest is a longtime public speaker who has helped many people through retreats for individuals, entrepreneurs and corporations. Her book is about how and why to take personal retreats.

DeKalb Ag Heritage group schedules holiday open house

The DeKalb Area Agricultural Heritage Association will host a Holiday Open House from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Visitors can discover DAAHA and explore the exhibits on display in the gallery.

Light refreshments will be served. Admission is free.

DAAHA is collecting and sharing the rich history of agricultural innovation in northern Illinois. Current exhibits explore the transformation of corn since 1917 and the technology developed to make the transformation possible.
