Police: Pot found in DeKalb County Jail
SYCAMORE – A 27-year-old Chicago man is accused of storing marijuana between pages of a book in his DeKalb County Jail cell.
Timmie R. Worthy Jr., of the 40th block of West 111th Place, was charged Saturday with possession of contraband in a penal institution, a felony typically punishable by up to five years in prison.
Another jail inmate told authorities he saw a prohibited item in one of the housing blocks, court records show. They found three white, rolled-up pieces of paper containing marijuana between pages of a book along with court documents from Worthy's case, court records show. The book was found on top of Worthy's mattress, court records show.
Worthy was in jail unable to post bond in connection with charges of criminal trespass to land and resisting a peace officer. Most recently, his bond was set at $9,500.
His next court date is Dec. 12.
