Marilyn Greenawalt's painted wood slabs will be included in the 44th annual Ellen Oaks Christmas Craft Show opening Wednesday at the Masonic Temple in Genoa.

The 44th annual Ellen Oaks Christmas Craft Show will be held this week at the Masonic Temple at Route 23 and Watson Drive in Genoa.

The show was started by two Ellen Oaks residents, Marilyn Greenawalt and Nancy Wulf, who decided to have a Christmas open house craft show in one of their homes. The show was held for many years in the neighborhood before it grew so big it had to move to the Masonic Temple. Greenawalt is still involved with the show. She paints seasonal scenes on slabs of wood.

The show will include country, wood, antiques, primitives, ornaments, sewn items, jewelry, pottery and other unique items.

For more than 30 years, the Ellen Oaks crafters have shared a portion of their sales with Safe Passage.

The Christmas Craft Show will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
