Woman robbed at gunpoint at University Heights

DeKALB – An office clerk at the University Heights apartments was robbed at gunpoint about 4 p.m. Wednesday, DeKalb police said.

A man wearing a mask hit a clerk inside the apartment office with the gun and demanded her purse, which she gave him, DeKalb police Lt. James McDougall said. The man ran out of the office and down the hallway of the apartment building at 1120 Varsity Blvd.

"Detectives are working on it," McDougall said Wednesday evening. "No one is in custody at the moment."

The clerk's injuries were not serious enough for her to go to the emergency room, McDougall said.
