Vesper concert to be held Sandwich church

At 4 p.m. Dec. 8, the Federated Church of Sandwich, 403 N. Main St., will present Vesper 2013. This will be the 17th year the church choir has put on this extraordinary concert.

The theme of this year’s event is “A Heavenly Christmas.” Local artists performing this year with the 25-voice choir are Cindy Albright, Brian Miller, Dean Potter, Chris Williams, Sean Williams and Jim and Pat Yuvan.

Kristin Duffield will accompany the choir and soloists on piano, and Cathy Owens will accompany on percussion.

Jenny Rohr, well known violinist in the community, will join the choir on several songs and perform The Mannheim Steamroller “Stille Nacht.”

Chris Williams and Chuck Johnson, vocalists, Bob Ash and Brian Miller, guitarists, Kristin Duffield, piano and Kara Johnson, percussion, all members of Heart of Worship praise band, will perform more contemporary versions of popular Christmas songs.

The men’s choir will perform a true Southern gospel song, “Come and See What’s Happenin’ in the Barn.” The young girls’ choir will perform two pop Christian songs by young artists.

There will be some familiar tunes as well as some new songs that will become favorites.

Pastor Don Ridder will narrate the program. The choirs will be under the direction of Pat Yuvan, Ula Greenwood and Chris Williams.
