St. Paul’s invites public to St. Nicholas Sunday

Published: Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church will celebrate the feast of St. Nicholas at the 10:30 a.m. service on Dec. 8 with a children’s sermon.

Come and hear the story about the original Santa Claus: St. Nicholas, the Patron Saint of Needy Children.

“Mighty Boxes” for collecting coins to benefit children’s ministries in the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem also will be distributed. A coin a day in a “Mighty Box” reminds us of the true reason for the season – the arrival of the Christ child for the healing of the world. The boxes will be collected at 6 p.m. Jan. 6 during another family-friendly worship event on the feast of the Epiphany.

All Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion at St. Paul’s. The church also is handicapped accessible. The church is located at 900 Normal Road in DeKalb.
