Toys for Tots donation event at Culver’s

Published: Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 5:57 p.m. CST

DeKalb County Toys for Tots will host a charity event from 5 to 8 p.m. Dec. 4 at Culver’s, 1200 Sycamore Road, Sycamore. Members of DeKalb County Toys for Tots Campaign, Girl and Cub Scouts, Marine Reserves and the DeKalb County Marine Corps League will greet customers and run orders.

Everyone can help DeKalb County Toys for Tots simply by having dinner or a snack – eat-in or drive-up. Ten percent of all sales will go to DeKalb County Toys for Tots and if more than $3,000 in total sales is achieved, 15 percent will be donated.

Boxes are around DeKalb County for the local campaign, which ends Dec. 12, and will also be available at Culver’s during this event for new unwrapped toy donations. The toys will be distributed by the Salvation Army, 830 Grove St., DeKalb, on Dec. 17 and 18 to families who have registered. Last year, more than 2,500 children from 988 families had a merrier Christmas thanks to Toys for Tots and Salvation Army.

To donate money, volunteer to assist in the campaign, request a box, or request toys for their family, visit the Toys For Tots website at and select DeKalb County, Ill., or email or call Kathi or Kara at 779-777-5896.
