GENOA-KINGSTON

HIAWATHA

HINCKLEY-BIG ROCK

Coach: Greg Burks (sixth season, 132-30)

2012-13 results: 18-13, lost to Annawan in Class 1A Illinois Valley Community College Sectional final

Key returners: Jacqueline Madden, junior, guard; Lauren Paver, senior, guard; Karrigan Cowan, junior, forward; Caitlin Flanigan, senior, guard/forward; Andrea Binkley, senior, guard

Burks’ take: “Hopefully, experience will be a benefit or us. Hopefully, quickness will be a benefit for us. Hopefully, we’ll be a good defensive team which is something we kind of hang our hat on each year. If we’re solid defensively, I think we can be pretty strong.”

INDIAN CREEK

Coach: Paul Muchmore (15th season, 201-166)

Colombe’s take: “I think since I’ve been the head coach we’ve had some pretty good defensive teams. I think this year’s team is a little bit more offensive-minded. I think we’re going to be able to score some points in different ways this year. This is one of our biggest teams we’ve had in awhile.”

SYCAMORE

Coach: Brett Goff (third season, 25-28)

2012-13 results: 13-13, lost to Hampshire in Class 3A Burlington Central Regional quarterfinals
