Feed’em Soup sets holiday meal schedule

Published: Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 5:58 p.m. CDT

Through Feed’em Soup’s community kitchen, weekly dinner services are offered each Wednesday night and monthly brunches on the fourth Sunday of each month, featuring fresh ingredients, locally sourced as often as possible on a “donate if you can” basis.

Aimed at aiding struggling families, seniors and individuals, services are open to all. Those that are able are encouraged to leave a small donation to cover the cost of food; those that are not eat at no charge and are covered by the donations of others.

This holiday season, dinners will be provided on Thanksgiving Eve, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Years Day as well as Sunday brunch on the fourth Sunday of December.

The holiday meal schedule follows:

Thanksgiving Eve Dinner: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday

Thanksgiving Day Dinner: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday

Sunday Brunch Dec. 22: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Christmas Day Dinner: 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 25

New Years Day Dinner: 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 1

A goal has been set to raise $2,500 now until Jan. 1 to help offset the food costs for holiday meals. For every $10 that is donated, five plates of food can be served.
