DeKALB – Area residents can drop off donations for tornado victims in Washington from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the DeKalb Police Department, 200 S. Fourth St.

DeKalb police, with other area police departments, are coordinating the drive and will deliver the items Tuesday, according to a news release.

They hope to fill a cargo trailer loaned by Tool-Time Rentals in DeKalb.

Items needed include new clothes and warm coats, canned goods, toiletries, paper towels, baby necessities, hand towels, pet food, gift cards, gas cards, batteries, bottled water, storage bins, and first aid supplies.

For information, call 815-748-8400 and ask to speak with Jill Caldwell, Tom Reilly, Jordan Poulos or Chad McNett.
