Mortgage burning celebration at First Lutheran

First Lutheran Church, 324 N. Third St. in DeKalb, held a Mortgage Burning celebration on Nov. 3. 

The congregation gave thanks to God as they retired the debt on their 2003 building addition five years ahead of schedule. 

Pastor Jeff Clements, assistant to the Bishop of the Northern Illinois Synod, and Pastor Tom Hansen, former pastor of First Lutheran Church were present for the celebration.
