Letter: Young people earn respect

Published: Thursday, Nov. 14, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

To the Editor:

Last Saturday evening, my wife and I dined at the Ruby Tuesday in DeKalb. There were very large tables and booths that held approximately 20 young men and their dates enjoying dinner.

Fellas were in black slacks and dress shirts with ties. Ladies in their Sunday best. All looked very professional and their conduct was the same.

Although they presented quite a crowd, and appeared to enjoy the dinner as well as the camaraderie, no other guest was disturbed in the least.

Upon leaving, I inquired about the event at the desk and was told that they were members of a NIU fraternity having a dinner function. You have earned admiration and respect.
