DeKalb police seek public's help finding armed robber

DeKALB – Police are searching for the masked gunman who robbed the Shell gas station at 307 N. Seventh St. in DeKalb.

A black man described as 5-feet 10-inches to 6-feet-tall with a medium build, entered the gas station about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, pulled a handgun on the clerk and left with an undisclosed amount of cash, DeKalb Police Cmdr. John Petragallo said. No one was injured.

"He was observed leaving the area on foot," Petragallo said. "Whether he ended up getting in a vehicle, I don't know."

Those with information about the incident should call DeKalb police at 815-748-8400 and ask to speak with the investigations division.

"We're looking for help from anyone who many have been in the area at that time," Petragallo said.
