DeKALB – A car crash Sunday ended with two cars overturned at the intersection of Perry Road and Route 23.

DeKalb County Sheriff’s police said they arrived at the intersection around 7:30 a.m. Sunday, where a 16-year-old Mt. Morris boy driving a 2000 Honda Accord west on Perry Road did not stop at the intersection near Route 23.

The Honda collided with a 2012 Mazda 3 driven by Anthony Lesko, 26, of the 1200 block of Myra Court in Somonauk, authorities said. Both vehicles were overturned and ended up in the ditch southwest of the intersection. Lesko’s car was upside down while the Honda ended up on its side, police said.

Police said the DeKalb Fire Department responded to the scene. Both drivers were injured and were taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, according to the news release. On Monday, a supervising nurse with the hospital said both of them were no longer patients there.

The Mt. Morris boy was charged with disobeying a stop sign.
