SYCAMORE — Police said a woman accidentally slammed into wall of a daycare center in Sycamore.

The woman stepped on the gas instead of the brake in her 1993 Toyota Camry and smacked into the outside wall of the Two Rivers Head Start Agency, 2425 Bethany Road, said Sycamore Police Officer Steve Elbrecht. Nobody was injured and although the driver appeared shaken, she did not request medical attention, he said.

The wall of the building had been torn open and a sign for 15-minute parking was flattened, with the sign torn off the pole. Elbrecht said he inspected the inside the building and found the only interior damage was a cracked drywall.

Elbrecht said the driver would not be cited for the accident.

Sycamore police officers, Sycamore fire officials and Sycamore Building and Engineering Department officials responded to the scene, he said.
