DeKalb soccer's Hottsmith named NI Big 12 East MVP

Hottsmith led DeKalb to 19 victories, a conference title and regional championship in his only year with the team.

DeKalb's Dylan Hottsmith was named the boys soccer MVP of the Northern Illinois Big 12 East. 

Hottsmith helped lead DeKalb to a school-record 19 wins, a conference title and regional championship in his only year on the team. Hottsmith, a senior, played football for DeKalb the previous three years. 

Hottsmith was joined on the All-Conference team by teammates Akim Suraji, Sean Woodford, Trevor Freeland, Logan Brown and Skyler Weishaar. 

Sycamore's Jacob Bassett and Kaneland's Anthony Parillo, Arsim Azemi, Chris VanDinther and Tyler Siebert also were named to the All-Conference team. 

DeKalb's Owen Smith, Kaneland's Ignacio Toscano and Curtis Thorson and Sycamore's Adam Millburg and Kendryck Rand were named All-Conference Honorable Mention.
