St. Peter’s in Sycamore observes holy days

Published: Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 5:30 a.m. CST

Saint Peter’s Episcopal Church in Sycamore invites the community to join the congregation at two special services today and Saturday.

The church will observe All Saints Day today, the commemoration of all of the holy women and men of God who have been leaders and examples of holy living and holy dying throughout the centuries. The festive service starts at 6 p.m. and will include a baptism, a sermon and Holy Communion. Afterwards, a potluck supper will be offered in the parish hall.

On Saturday, the congregation observes All Souls Day, a time to remember beloved dead, especially all those who have been examples of holiness in our own lives. This is a day to pray for friends and relatives who have gone before. This service will be offered at 9 a.m.

Saint Peter’s welcomes all people to worship, and all baptized people are invited to receive Holy Communion.

Saint Peter’s is located at 218 Somonauk St. in Sycamore. For more information, call the church office at 815-895-2227 or visit www.sycamorestpeters.org.
