To the Editor:
The recent early snow reminded me of an article I read from one of Hospice Care DeKalb County’s excellent mailings.
The article was written by one who knew his time here was drawing to a close, and he was reminding those who might wish to see him again to “come before winter.” And, of course, as so often happens, we let life get in the way and some didn’t make it in time.
I think many of us have at least one or two, if not more, people who are in nursing homes, are bed-ridden, or just plain lonely.
They would so love a visit, a hug, a touch – take a flower or a special book, send a card, or make a phone call.
It is a gift that comes back to us two-fold – you will receive more than you give. May I give a gentle nudge to you, and myself – “come before winter.”
