ELBURN – A Hinckley woman was killed Sunday in a two-car accident on Route 38 west of Elburn, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Police said Kelly Morsch, 23, of Hinckley, was driving a 2012 Ford Focus east on Route 38 west of Meredith Road when she crossed the center line and collided with a westbound 2007 BMW SUV about 12:30 p.m.

Morsch was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The other driver, Christopher McTee, 40, of Schaumburg, was flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, police said, noting his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. A passenger in the vehicle Lisa McTee, 32, of Schaumburg, was taken by ambulance to Delnor Hospital in Geneva with non-life threatening injuries, police said.

Route 38 between Meredith and Watson roads was closed for about four hours while authorities investigated the crash, police said.

Kane County sheriff’s detectives and members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team are conducting the investigation.

No tickets have been issued, police said.
