Hiawatha program seeks unwanted instruments

Published: Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 5:30 a.m.CDT

The Hiawatha Education Foundation is starting a new band instrument donation program. The goal is to collect unwanted band instruments and distribute them to those in need.

The instruments will be assessed by a qualified person to determine if they are usable by the band program. If the instrument is deemed unacceptable, the instrument can be donated anyway for parts or scrap or the instrument can be returned. If the instrument is acceptable, a verification letter will be provided for tax purposes.

To donate an instrument, call Amy Polzin at 815-262-5069 or email her at apolzin87@yahoo.com to make arrangements to pick up or drop off instruments.
