Park district offers wellness workshops

Published: Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 11:36 a.m. CDT

The DeKalb Park District will host a two-part wellness workshop that will allow participants to assess their health behaviors and gain helpful tools to live a healthier life both inside and out. The workshops will help people find creative ways to manage stress and improve health. Additional resources will be available, including book suggestions, phone apps and free giveaway items.

The facilitator is a registered nurse who has taught classes on stress management and chronic disease management for more than 25 years.

The workshops will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday and Nov. 9, at the Sports & Rec Center, 1765 S. Fourth St. in DeKalb. The cost to attend is $40 for park district residents and $50 for nonresidents per workshop. There is a $10 discount when you register for both dates.

For more information regarding the workshops see page 31 of the Park District Fall Program Guide. Questions can be directed to Colleen Belmont at 815-756-8560.
