Friends of DeKalb Library plan bus trip

The Friends of the DeKalb Public Library are offering a bus trip to Washington D.C. from April 10 through 15.

This is an opportunity to experience Washington D.C. and participate in the nation’s celebration of the cherry trees in bloom there as the culmination of the National Cherry Blossom Festival is on April 12.

Travelers will enjoy two full-day guided tours of Washington D.C. plus an evening guided memorial and monuments tour. The trip is designed especially for The Friends of the DeKalb Public Library and their guests. The trip includes eight meals, five nights lodging and a private tour of the Library of Congress.

Tours feature the World War II Memorial, Capitol Hill, Embassy Row, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Arlington National Cemetery, Iwo Jima Memorial, Smithsonian, Martin Luther King Jr. National Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and more. The group also will visit Baltimore Inner Harbor, a historic seaport.

The trip cost is $549 per person, double occupancy. Space is limited. Proceeds support activities of the Friends of the DeKalb Public Library .
