Ben Hoffman and Kate Gottlieb were united in marriage on July 6, 2013, at St. James Farm in Warrenville. A grove of trees in the farm park served as an outdoor cathedral. Pastor Jamie Page of The Church in DeKalb officiated.

Ben is the son of Winifred and the late Kenneth Hoffman of rural Earlville. Kate is the daughter of Steve and Debbie Gottlieb of West Chicago. 

Beth Gottlieb, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Samantha Davis, friend of the bride; Lana Birky, friend of the bride; and Shawna Hoffman, sister-in-law of the bride. Aubrey and Rachel Gottlieb, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.  Ring bearer was Luke Gottlieb, nephew of the bride.

The groom was attended by his brother, Seth Hoffman, as best man. Also serving as groomsmen were Paul Hoffman, brother of the groom, and Mark Frechman and Chuck Roberson, friends of the groom. Oliver Hoffman, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer. Martha and Miriam Hoffman, sisters of the groom, were guest book hostesses and greeters.

The bride is a home school graduate and currently a senior at Northern Illinois University, studying child development. She also is a day care teacher at The Growing Place.

The groom is a 2007 graduate of Earlville High School. He also is a graduate of Indian Valley Community College and Northern Illinois University. He is an elementary school teacher at Cambridge Lakes Charter School near Elgin.

After a honeymoon in upper Michigan, the couple resides in DeKalb.  

40th anniversary

Bob and Mary Snow of Genoa will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary on Oct. 27.

They have two sons, Robert (Andrea) and David (Rachael); and five grandchildren, Nick, Haley, Natalie, Tyler and Kate.
