Letter: More than decorations stolen

To the Editor:

I have to say to the thieves who stole our Halloween decorations early Thursday morning: You not only stole our decorations but you took our sense of security away!

You might not have thought it was a big deal, but when my nieces came out this morning and all the decorations were gone, the looks on their faces were so sad. Not only were our decorations stolen, but those of our neighbors’ were also. Whoever you are, I hope karma catches up with people like you.

The decorations weren’t worth a whole lot (at least, ours weren’t), so I know the only reason they did it was to be ... I’ll let you fill in this part.

I was young once and did stupid things, but I never stole. I don’t know how people can live with themselves doing things like this. I hope someday something like this happens to whoever you are!

And if any parent’s come across new decorations in their lawn or garage and are not sure where they came from, I’ve got a pretty good guess.

Not saying it’s kids that did it, but it just seems like someone pretty immature would be the ones to do this. I feel sorry for whoever did steal from us because you’re probably going to end up in jail someday.

So whoever you are, I hope you can live with the fact that you’re a thief and you took something from us we won’t ever get back ... our sense of security.
