Thanks for supporting Mayfield Church

To the Editor:

For over 60 years, the faith family at Mayfield Church of rural Sycamore has hosted a fall and spring pancake breakfast.

We are grateful for the more than 300 friends and neighbors who joined us on Saturday, Oct. 12.

While our pancake breakfast is a fundraiser to support our church missions, we are delighted to provide a welcoming setting where those in attendance can enjoy fellowship with each other over a delicious meal.

It takes the combined effort of each one of our members – from our beloved children to our respected elders – and Mayfield Church’s many friends who volunteer each year to accomplish this.

We are grateful for the generosity of the community businesses who donated items and services for our door prizes.

Please think of these generous businesses when purchasing goods and services in our community.

Many thanks to: Jeff Clausen, Rosita’s Mexican Restaurant, Great Clips, Dana’s Day Spa, Ralph’s Full Service Car Wash and Detail Center, Midwest Museum of Natural History, Eggclusive Café, Tom & Jerry’s Restaurant – Sycamore, The Hillside Restaurant, Four Season’s Sports, The Barn and Sweet Dreams Desserts and Catering.

God’s blessings.

Donation helps kids attend Camp Maple Leaf

To the Editor:

Kishwaukee Special Recreation Association would like to thank the Knights of Columbus DeKalb Council members for their generous donation to KSRA for the annual Camp Maple Leaf camp program.

Camp Maple Leaf is an integrated summer camp that has served the DeKalb, Sycamore and Genoa community for more than 30 years. Camp Maple Leaf provides children with or without disabilities, ages 4 and older, a fun and rewarding summer experience. Campers participate in group activities and come together for many whole camp activities. Older campers concentrate on life skills and vocational activities.

The funds will be used to offer scholarships to campers that would otherwise be unable to attend Camp Maple Leaf this summer. Thank you, Knights of Columbus!
