DeKALB – Three men were arrested Sunday after shots were fired over a group being turned away from a party in the 700 block of Regent Drive, police said.

About 2:30 a.m., officers from multiple police agencies heard three or four shots fired, and saw a man run into an apartment, according to a news release. Inside the apartment, police found several people and a loaded Glock 9mm pistol.

A group of people who unsuccessfully tried to go to a party at the apartment threw bottles at the building. In the ensuing fight, Javon A. Bright, of the 600 block of Sullivan Lane in University Park, fired shots and the group fled, police said. No injuries were reported.

Bright was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, police said. Kmet A. Baxter, 20, of the 1500 block of West 99th Street in Chicago was charged with obstructing justice, and Jakeem J. Moore, 18, of the 700 block of Regent Drive, was charged with obstructing justice and possession of a firearm without a firearm owners identification card.
