Witches Ball brewing Saturday in Sandwich

Published: Monday, Oct. 14, 2013 6:43 p.m. CDT

The Sandwich Association of Merchants will hold its second annual Witches Ball on Saturday. Participating retailers will offer sales, coupon books and store specific events.

The day has expanded this year to also include a Halloween costume ball at the Best Western Plus Timber Creek Inn & Suites that evening.

Tickets for the Witches Costume Ball cost $35 at the door. Ticket price includes a Halloween-themed buffet that will include apple cider, appetizers, salad, entrée and dessert. The ball will have a cash bar, DJ, karaoke and a costume contest with prizes for witches and warlocks. For those interested in staying the night at the hotel, a special rate of $89.99 is available the night of the ball.

Proceeds from the ball will be donated to Our Sharing Pantry, a food pantry operated by St. John’s Lutheran Church in Somonauk. The pantry serves residents of Somonauk, Sandwich and Leland.
