Altrusan Sue Lehto presents the trophy to last year's DeKalb County Community Spelling Bee winners Chris Nissen, Bette Chilton and Cindy Tjelle of the CASA team.

The Altrusa and Daily Chronicle Spelling Bee will be held Thursday at St. Mary's Parish Activity Center in Sycamore, with registration and refreshments beginning at 6 p.m., a practice round at 6:30 p.m., and the Bee at 7 p.m.

The community is invited to support and cheer the spellers at this event.

Funds from this event will go toward the Daily Chronicle's Newspapers in Education program, and Altrusa's grants to many literacy projects.
