Saint Peter’s offers Blessing of Animals

Published: Friday, Oct. 4, 2013 5:30 a.m. CDT

Saint Peter’s invites the public to the Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. Saturday in front of the Parish House at 218 Somonauk St., Sycamore.

This event is held to give thanks to God for all animals, and especially for those who are a part of people’s lives as pets, service animals and livestock.

Residents are invited to bring any animal that enjoys the company of people and other animals, to receive a blessing from the church in the name of God. If an animal cannot come to the event, participants can bring a picture, a collar, or other object as a sign of their relationship with the animal.
