Aurora man charged with DUI in crash with motorcycle

VIRGIL TOWNSHIP – A DeKalb man on a motorcycle was hit by a driver who police allege was intoxicated late Friday, police said.

According to Kane County Sheriff’s reports, Ronald Busch, 39, of DeKalb, was on Route 38 between the bridge and Meredith Road about 11:30 p.m. Friday when he was rear-ended by a Chevrolet Cavalier driven by Nicholas D. Jones, 33, of Aurora.

Busch was transported to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, police said. A hospital spokesman said Busch was not a patient at the hospital Monday.

Jones was charged with driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, operating an uninsured vehicle and possession of more than 2.5 up to 10 grams of marijuana.
According to court records, Jones posted $300 bond or 10 percent of $3,000 bail. His next court date is Oct. 18.

Jones was charged by Aurora police May 30 for illegal transportation of liquor, disregarding a stop sign and possession of less than 2.5 grams of marijuana, court records show. He paid a $735 fine and received a conditional discharge, requiring him to complete 30 hours of community service by Dec. 30 and be under 11 months of court supervision, records show.
