Community spelling bee set for Oct. 17

SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Community Spelling Bee, presented by DeKalb/Sycamore Altrusa International and the Daily Chronicle, will be Oct. 17 at St. Mary’s Church Activity Center, 322 Waterman St. in Sycamore.

Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m., with a practice round at 6:30 p.m. and the competitive bee at 7 p.m.

The public is invited to come cheer for its favorite team.

Proceeds will support local literacy programs through Altrusa, the Daily Chronicle’s Newspapers in Education program and the DeKalb County Community Foundation.
