Israeli world music ensemble Baladino will perform in concert at DeKalb High School Sept. 26.

Baladino, a fresh Israeli world music ensemble, will perform at DeKalb High School at 7 p.m. Sept. 26.

This group performs centuries-old melodies and sounds carried to Israel from Spain, Eastern Europe, Turkey and the Middle East. The members of the ensemble blend these far-flung influences with authenticity and conviction.

Arts Midwest DeKalb County plans to bring four international concerts to the area over the next two years to entertain and educate. Groups will perform and will offer workshops to local high school and university music students. Arts Midwest is a combination of local business and educational groups.

The concert will be held in the high school auditorium. Tickets cost $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID and can be purchased from The NICE Society/FunME Events, 650 Peace Road, Suite F in DeKalb, and from music students and faculty at DeKalb or Sycamore high schools. To purchase group tickets, or for more information, call 815-756-1263.
