Barbara Rinella will give a presentation as Cleopatra on Oct. 23 at a fundraising event for the DeKalb Public Library's expansion.

The Community Fundraising Committee for the DeKalb Public Library will bring Barbara Rinella, well-known book dramatist, to the Stage Coach Theater, 126 S. Fifth St. in DeKalb, on Oct. 23. Rinella will appear as Cleopatra.

Rinella defines herself as an “academic entertainer” and has for many years enthralled audiences with her portrayal of individuals from works of literature, both historic and fictional. Her appearance as the intriguing Cleopatra is based on the book “Cleopatra: A Life” by Stacy Schiff.

Rinella’s performance will begin at 2:30 p.m., but she will mingle with the audience – in character as Cleopatra – beginning at 1:15 p.m. in the theater lobby.

Tickets cost $50, which includes a pre-performance reception and refreshments. Proceeds support the DeKalb Public Library’s expansion. Tickets can be purchased at the library or by calling 815-756-3292 or 815-756-9568.
